Men's Viking Jewelry — en savoir plus
Viking jewelry for men: signet rings and runic bands, watches with engraved dials, pendants on steel chains, bangles and cuffs. All are selected from our catalog for their size and character—stainless steel that won't rust, real wood, symbols legible from a meter away.
Where to start
| Category | What you need to know |
|---|---|
| Viking rings | US sizing, conversion table on the page |
| Viking watches | 44 mm dial, not waterproof |
| Viking necklaces | chain included, 50 to 70 cm |
| Viking bracelets | bangles and links, 19 to 25 cm |
The three measurements you should know
This is the number one cause of disappointment, and each category has its own logic. Three minutes with a piece of string and a ruler is all it takes.
For a ring, our sizes are US sizes, from 5 to 13. A US size 10 corresponds to a French size 62, or 19.8 mm in inner diameter—it is the most popular size for men. The complete table of all nine conversions is on the ring page. If you are between two sizes for a wide signet ring, choose the larger one: its rigid plate does not slide over the knuckle as easily.
For a necklace, the length determines where the pendant falls. 60 cm is the standard masculine reference length: the motif sits at the top of the sternum and remains visible over a t-shirt. Go down to 55 cm for a look closer to the neck, or up to 70 cm if the necklace is to be worn over a sweater.
For a bracelet, add one and a half to two centimeters to your wrist circumference. 21 cm covers the vast majority of men's wrists, which corresponds to a measurement of 19 to 19.5 cm. For a wrist larger than 20.5 cm, go for 23 cm.
For a watch, the dial is 44 mm across the entire range. It is a large format, intentionally so: you need space to engrave a legible Vegvísir. It finds its right proportion starting from a 17.5 cm wrist circumference, and remains quite imposing below 16 cm.
Materials
Thirty-three of these pieces are made of stainless steel, often 316L grade, known as surgical steel: hypoallergenic, free of nickel, it does not turn skin green and can be worn at the gym or in the shower. It is the safest and least demanding material in the catalog—the one you can gift without a second thought.
Eighteen are made of real wood: these are the watches, available in black, zebra, patchwork, or sandalwood. Two concrete advantages—the weight, much lighter than equivalent steel, and the temperature, as wood adjusts to the skin's temperature instead of staying cold. One constraint, however: none of our watches are rated for water resistance. Treat them as not waterproof, as immersion will cause the wood to swell and split irreversibly.
Some pieces combine steel with gold plating, which should be removed before showering or exercising; others are made of titanium, patinated bronze, or mounted on leather. The exact material is listed on each product page.
Symbols and what they mean
Futhark runes dominate the selection, engraved on many pieces—on the edge of a bangle, around a dial, or recessed into a ring. Next is the Triquetra, a three-branched knot drawn in a single line, interpreted as the intertwining of body, mind, and soul.
Odin appears on several models, alone or accompanied by his ravens Huginn and Muninn—thought and memory—or his eight-legged horse, Sleipnir. The Valknut, three interlocking triangles, is a recurring theme; it is associated with fallen warriors and Valhalla. The Yggdrasil, the world tree whose roots connect the nine realms, appears as well.
The rest features the Vegvísir, the eight-branched runic compass meant to keep the wearer from losing their way in a storm, Thor's Mjölnir, Celtic knots, the berserker bear, and the Möbius strip. Maintenance
For steel: a soft cloth, warm soapy water, careful drying, and the shine returns in seconds. No professional polishing is needed. For wood: use only a dry cloth; never use furniture polish, as it leaves a greasy film. For gold-plated items: remove before showering, swimming, or cleaning. For leather: never soak; wipe clean and let dry flat away from radiators.
Frequently asked questions
What Viking ring size for a man? US 10, or 62 in French size, is the most common size. Measure your finger at the end of the day and refer to the conversion table on the ring page.
What necklace length for a man? 60 cm in the vast majority of cases: the pendant falls at the top of the sternum and remains visible over a t-shirt.
What bracelet size? 21 cm for a wrist circumference of 19 to 19.5 cm. Always add one and a half centimeters to your measurement.
Is a 44 mm dial too big? It will be noticeably imposing on a wrist under 16 cm. This is not a flaw if that is the look you are going for, but it is something to know before ordering.
Is steel suitable for sensitive skin? Yes, 316L steel is hypoallergenic and free of nickel. It does not turn the skin green, unlike some cheap alloys.
Is this jewelry exclusively for men? No. No design is gendered: this selection gathers the pieces whose size and style are most often chosen by men. There is nothing to stop you from wearing them otherwise.
What jewelry to give as a gift? A ring or pendant for a first gift; a wooden watch for a more striking piece.
What are the delivery times and costs? Tracked delivery is free on orders over €49, regardless of the destination country.
